P-noy: Support Dayaw

President Benigno S. Aquino III enjoined all national government agencies and local government units as well as civic society organizations to extend full support by encouraging their constituents to participate in the celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples Festival this October 2011 through Dayaw Festival in Tagum City.

With Presidential Proclamation No. 1906, s. 2009 as basis, PNoy through Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr. signed Memorandum Circular No. 22, s. 2011 dated September 29 this year.

As a response, the forum dubbed as “Usapang Dangal at Likhang Paghayag” will draw participation from important national line agencies which will have a direct response to the issues and concerns faced by the indigenous peoples.

Members of the media both national and local will also have the chance to participate in a special colloquium to be held today, October 7, 2009 where they will meet IP leaders and cultural masters. Like other national line agencies, they will also be asked to ask for a commitment to advance the cause of the indigenous peoples. DAYAW REPORTORIAL TEAM
